Description:

Our graphic designer’s primary responsibility is to design and put together the University Journal, our student-produced magazine that we release twice per semester. This person must be able to work well under time constraints in addition to having strong creative and artistic ability. Our graphic designer must complete other projects upon request, such as Instagram posts and stories, flyers, posters, handouts, etc. This position can also count as an internship for credit and is a great resume builder for students entering the graphic design field. An applicant should be able to work 20 hours per week, especially during the two-week period where they will work with our editor-in-chief and operations manager to design the layout for the UJ magazine.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate for this position will be: Majoring in Graphic Design, Communication, Art/Illustration, or a related field Have a knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially InDesign Be able to work well within time constraints to produce graphic materials Have a portfolio of design work to bring to an interview * Willing to collaborate and take direction from editors

The wages listed represent our starting hourly pay, but wages are experience and merit based and can be adjusted.
